  This is one of those places where a future customer is treated with very professional sales reps in their best behavior and with their undivided attention. They will go to any extent to make the sale happen, even if that means they reduce the price up front and then charge it in a different way back to you. Something similar happened to me on August 5, 2017. The price was reduced as I was about to walk out of the store by $50, but the free delivery got replaced with a delivery charge of $50. Unfortunately I noticed it only after I made the payment and walked out of the store.. I then walked back to store in 5 minutes and told them that I wasn't aware of the delivery charges and that I will pick up the mattress myself. They gave me a new receipt for the reduced price and told me that it will be refunded in 5 to 7 days. And that I should contact them if I don't see it refunded by the time I pick up my mattress. However, I had a very different experience where I got their to pick up the mattress myself on August 12, 2017 at 10am. I met with a sales rep who had no idea what he was doing and gave me a wrong mattress. He first pointed me to a queen mattress while I had purchased only a twin. He then reached out to George who was busy with a future customer with his undivided attention only to get a response that the mattress is there somewhere. The sales rep finally gave me a twin mattress and I loaded it in my van. While loading the mattress in the parking lot behind the store, I found the mattress tag and noticed that its different mattress (it was HR 340 while I had purchased HR 300). I walked back to the store and I told him about it. He then went abruptly into my van and pulled it out in hurry as if I was shoplifting or something. He then finally found the correct mattress. I was about to load the new mattress, I got literally yelled at saying it was my fault that I loaded the mattress in the van without signing some paperwork that I even didn't know. I was a bit frustrated dealing with this sales rep who knew nothing about mattresses, so I wanted to talk to George real quick and only to remind him bout the refund. This is in fact something they had asked me to do (to remind them) while picking up the mattress. George was still busy with the same customer with his undivided attention and he didn't want to talk to me even for 30 seconds. When I told that I am willing to wait, George took 2 minutes to explain me why he can't talk to me. He then started making faces with other future customer making references clearly about me. I then just wanted to leave my cell phone number such that George can call me back when he gets free and he wasn't even ready to listen to that. Somehow they agreed to have my cell phone number and George finally called me back at 6pm only to tell me that the refunds are completely out of his control and that he just can't tell me when it may get even processed by their corporate office. He can't say whether its 21 days or one month. I am writing this review on August 20, 2017 and I am afraid of calling back them as I will be yelled at again and I am still waiting for the refund to show up.

  I recently moved to Berkeley and needed a mattress. Ended up checking most mattress stores in town, but soon found out that both the prices and the qualities at Sleep Train Berkeley were by far the best. I started my search not knowing at all what I needed and what was good for me considering my budget. But George, at Sleep Train Berkeley, helped me greatly by explaining to me the differences of various options and guiding me in my search. He is an amazing store manager, listens carefully to your needs, and spends time helping you find what you need. I was extremely satisfied with his help, and the quality of the products that his store offers, and strongly recommend anyone who needs a comfortable mattress in the area to pay a visit to Sleep Train Berkeley.
